AI Review Boosts Quality and Efficiency in Väderstad Manufacturing
Väderstad AB is one of the world’s leading manufacturing companies of machines for soil cultivation, seeding, and precision planting. They have successfully used our AI Review system since 2021.
A complex drawing review process
To ensure high quality and compatibility between machine parts in the production line, every geometrical detail in the 3D models must be clearly translated and communicated on the 2D drawings by the designer. To standardize this technical language, Väderstad uses the international ISO GPS standard along with some company-specific rules.
The review of the drawings is carried out by senior designers because the review requires experience and understanding of the company’s standards. To gain deeper insights into the challenges of the review process and how our AI review system has provided support, we spoke with Markus Zwörner, Geometric Assurance Engineer at Väderstad. Markus explains that even for a senior designer and manual reviewer, it is easy to miss errors simply because we are humans.

How AI Review has helped Väderstad so far

Markus explains that by gaining insight into common errors and where they occur by the feedback from AI Review, the design team can learn what to focus on more when creating the drawings and enhance their skills. This way, the AI reviewer is not just an automation tool, since it actively contributes to maintaining and improving knowledge within the team. As described by Markus:

Markus describes that his way of reviewing has changed with AI Review. He compares it to having someone holding his back while reviewing, especially when handling large volumes of data. To illustrate this, he shares the following example:
“Previously, I had to check a large BOM list 2 or 3 times, but now I only need to do it once. And this is just one example. It saves me a lot of time, but it also relieves stress for me as a reviewer since I don’t need to worry as much about missing something.”
